David has spent most of his career in Financial Services, beginning in insurance at Lloyds of London, before moving into Financial Advice with Scottish Amicable and then Scottish Life. In 1999 he co-founded Baker Gladstone & York with his brother Peter, and he remains one of its Financial Advisers to this day.
David is particularly skilled at reviewing old pensions and explaining options to clients. This is the part of his job he enjoys most: getting to know a client, helping them to understand what they’ve got and to formulate a plan so that they can feel confident about their future.
Outside of work David likes to keep active and is regularly out cycling, running and swimming: he has done a couple of marathons and is planning to take part in Triathlons next year. He is a regular traveller, theatre and concert attender and book reader: the best book he has read recently is Red Notice by Bill Browder.
